Hello Friends,
My name is Amanda Stevens and I am writing to you on behalf of the Calcagnini ALS Foundation. As you may be aware, May is ALS Awareness Month. You may have seen my husband, Eric, and me on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2019 and 2020. Eric, a former Los Angeles firefighter, was diagnosed with ALS five years ago at the age of 29.
We have recently begun working with Dr. Anahid Jewett, a world-renowned immunologist at the University of California Los Angeles. Dr. Jewett has identified specific characteristics in Eric’s immune system and, based on these unique findings, recommended treatments and protocols to help stop the progression of his ALS. We are hopeful for positive results against a disease whose prognosis is heart wrenching.
I’m reaching out to you to ask for your contributions to the Calcagnini ALS Foundation. These funds will further Dr. Jewett’s groundbreaking research to help find a cure for ALS.
We have met many wonderful people who have been afflicted by this cruel disease. Time is of the essence for all of us. For our family, we recently welcomed our son, Dean, who joins his three-year-old big sister, Peyton. We are trying to do everything we can to fight this disease. I need my husband and our kids need their daddy.
Pleasemake a donationto the Calcagnini ALS Foundation and forward this email to your network asking everyone to help.
Our goal is to raise $7.6 million dollars to expand lab space and research efforts to help individuals like Eric and others and create the UCLA Calcagnini Program to Reverse ALS in memory of James Arthur Calcagnini.
Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us toward meeting our goal.
Together we can beat this devastating disease. Please make a donation today andforward this email during ALS Awareness Month.
